Staying Connected
General
5/31/2006
Thousands of Hurricane Katrina evacuees are well on their way to self-sufficiency with help from our Stay Connected initiative. In addition, more than 300 Katrina-displaced kids received services in our Head Start program during this past school year. Other statistics: Of the 2,017 cases in our database, more than 850 individuals have found jobs, more than 1,000 families have registered for healthcare, and 75 households have completed financial literacy and planning coursework to aid them in sustaining their financial situations after FEMA and other assistance ends.
