HOUSTON – In an effort to reach Katrina-affected guests throughout the greater Houston area who are staying in hotels, motels, and private homes, Neighborhood Centers Inc. is providing assistance with registering for Red Cross and FEMA benefits at four Community Centers and our Central Services Office from 10am-6pm Monday-Friday (weekend hours may be added depending on demand). We are specifically targeting guests residing in low-income neighborhoods who need assistance with online registration, although anyone is welcome to use our computers to register with the American Red Cross and FEMA.

The five locations are as follows:

• Ripley House Community Center (Keymap 494-P) on Houston’s near East Side, 4410 Navigation, between Milby and Lockwood, 713-315-6400
• Harbach-Ripley Community Center (Keymap 534-U) in Houston’s Sunnyside neighborhood, 6225 Northdale, between Dixie and Bellfort, 713-641-6321
• Cleveland-Ripley Community Center (Keymap 576-D) in Pasadena, 720 Fairmont Parkway, just east of Allen-Genoa, 713-944-9186
• La Porte Neighborhood Center (Keymap 580-C) in La Porte, 526 San Jacinto, 281-471-1824
• Neighborhood Centers Inc. Central Services Office (Keymap 531-D) in Bellaire, 4500 Bissonnet, Suite 200, on the corner of Newcastle and Bissonnet, two blocks inside Loop 610, 713-667-9400
