The East End Worker Development Center helps connect day laborers to employers seeking reliable workers on an “as needed” basis. At the center, located in the Second Ward, employers and laborers negotiate the terms of employment including job task, wages and length of the workday.
By incorporating training on worker rights and workplace safety, and providing connections to citizenship and education services, Neighborhood Centers Inc. takes a comprehensive approach to working with this complex community condition.
