The Neighborhood Centers Inc. SUNNY FUTURES Healthy Start Consortium will be hosting their 4th Annual Infant Mortality Summit in collaboration with the Texas Southern University Center on the Family. Each year the Healthy Start Consortium hosts its Annual Infant Mortality Summit in honor of September as National Infant Mortality Awareness Month.  The Summit was designed to bring attention, awareness and action on the issue of infant mortality, and highlights the barriers that surround those negatively affected by healthcare disparities.  The theme for this year's Summit is S.T.E.P. Forward to a Healthy Start, where we are encouraging the attendees to Support, Teach, and Empower one another to Prevent infant mortality.  This year's conference will be hosted at the Texas Southern University Ernest S. Sterling Student Life Center.  For those interested in attending, please contact Ashley Garrett, SFHS Program Support Coordinator, at 713-640-7114 or agarrett@neighborhood-centers.org for more information.  Also, if you would like more information about the Healthy Start Program, please call 713-640-7113.
